This project is a personal tribute to girlhood, friendship, and intimacy in an era before the digital age. Shot between 2010 and 2011, this project marks my first systematic approach to photography (I shot one roll per month for over one year) and serves as a visual diary of my last year of school. Most of these images depict my teenage life and my girlfriends as we transition into womanhood, decide our future, cope with broken relationships, and embrace the complexity of adulthood. They capture tears, first and last experiences, fragilities, and dreams. Now these images serve as a personal testament to the timeless significance of memories and bonds forged in a time (so near yet so far) where the internet, smartphones, and social media were not at our fingertips.
